Since its inception in 1998, Taste Washington has gown into the nation’s largest single-region wine and food event showcasing the unique culinary offerings of Washington state. This year Taste Washington will take place on Saturday, March 29 and Sunday, March 30 at the CenturyLink Field Event Center in Seattle.
For 2014, Taste Washington will feature 76 restaurants, 53 exhibitors and 225 wineries pouring more than 800 wines. This year they are expanding their programming to offer new seminars, a photo booth, and an exclusive VIP Barrel Tasting Room hosted by Muckleshoot Casino.
General admission is from 2pm to 5pm with the VIP Tasting happening from 1pm to 5pm and the seminars taking place at 11:30am. A one-day ticket costs $80 for general admission and $145 VIP while the two-day ticket price is for $125 general admission and $185 VIP. Tickets can be purchased online or at participating wine shops located throughout the Seattle area. In addition, tickets for the seminars are priced separately with information found here. Also, 14 specially priced hotel packages are available and can be be booked at online.
Prior to this weekend, wine enthusiasts can participate in the first annual Red & White Magnum Party. Held on March 27 from 7pm to 10pm in the Glasshouse at Chihuly Garden and Glass, this event features 21 of the state’s most celebrated wineries with food prepared by Chef Ivan Szilak of the Collections Café. Tickets are priced at $195 and guests are invited to don their best red and white cocktail attire.
