The Gift Shop at Robert Mills is all decked for the Holidays and has plenty of gift ideas on hand.Mitch Journey, the shop manager has stocked many gift ideas for all ages. The gift Shop is part of Historic Columbia and is adjacent to the Robert Mills House at 1616 Blanding Street.
There is a wide variety of good items for one's perusal. There is a wide variety of dressings, nuts, preserves and other yummy ideas just waiting.Mitch has also stocked a selection of "green gifts" such as recycled wine bottles, wreaths made from wine bottle corks and. A selection of wooden bowls.
As usual, there is a wide variety of books of various kinds, gift books, children's books and a good selection of books about South Carolina and South Carolina history are available.It being South Carolina, there is a nice selection of palmetto merchandise and, for the Gamecock fans, there is a selection of Carolina oriented books. Mitch Journey says "I'll be handing out complimentary high fives."
Rather than video games and electronic based amusements, Mitch has stocked Zeise selection of vintage toys such as pick-up-sticks, nine pins, marbles. Jacks and coloring books round out the toy department.
Mitch also invites everyone to the shop's Open House on December 20 in conjunction with Historic Columbia's Candlelight tours with special bargain pricing.The shop is open Tues-Sat 10-4 and Sunday 1-5.
