On the first Saturday of every month, the Gulf Coast Golden Retriever Rescue has a display and brings Golden Retrievers to the Petco at 1808 Tamiami Trail, Port Charlotte, Florida. The purpose is to try to recruit foster parents and to find previous owners of Golden Retrievers who are looking to adopt. Donations are also always appreciated.
The Gulf Coast Golden Retriever Rescue covers south Florida. It is a non-profit organization devoted to the rescue, foster care, and placement of displaced Golden Retrievers who have been abandoned, abused or surrendered by their owners. They need caring, responsible, dog-experienced people to fill the role of foster care. Foster homes have the first right to adopt their foster Golden.
If you are looking to adopt or foster a Golden Retriever by opening your hear and home to a dog in need, it can be a most rewarding experience. Stop by Petco this Saturday, October 5, 2013 between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
