Visitors can enjoy a country Christmas celebration at the Bonnie Brae Elk Farm's annual "Christmas on the Farm" holiday event in Wellington, Ohio on Saturday, December 21 and Sunday, December 22. Wellington, Ohio is 49 miles from Cleveland and it is approximately a one hour drive.
Bonnie Brae Elk Farm Meaning "Pretty Hill" in Scotch, the Bonnie Brae Farm has been in existence since 1896. At various times over the years, Bonnie Brae has raised championship draft horses and Standardbred race horses. Since 1991, Bonnie Brae has been an elk farm.
Visitors to the "Christmas on the Farm" event will be able to board jingle bell-decorated farm wagons and take a ride to the fields and pastures among the elk herd. You will also get the opportunity to hand-feed the elk. After the ride, you can visit the festive century barn which features a decorated Christmas tree from which you can choose a free handmade ornament to take home. Be sure to check out the barn's gingerbread village.
Guests will be treated to free hot chocolate and cookies.
Hours for the Bonnie Brae event are 10:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. Viewing of the holiday decorations and the gingerbread village is free. Cost of the wagon rides and some of the related activities is $10 per person. Reservations are suggested.
