Are the kids complaining that there is nothing to do? Tell them to come play in the streets tomorrow. Mom and Dad can join them for a healthy good time.
Denver’s only Ciclovia is presented tomorrow by Live Well Colorado and Bike Denver.
What is a Ciclovia, one might ask. The Ciclovia is a Viva Streets event that creates a car free 23rd Avenue from City Park to Stapleton, 10am to 4pm, on August 12th Sunday, so residents can come play in the streets.
Starting with a kick off parade at 23rd Avenue and Kearney, visitors can ride their bike, get their skates on or take a stroll down 23rd Avenue, to be entertained and educated all day long, while learning how to live well. Race relations in Denver are not a prevalent concern at events like these. It's a time to meet neighbors in a friendly setting.
Regardless of ethnicity, come out to see healthy cooking demonstrations, zumba, yoga and dancing exhibitions, hula hooping and Kids Bike Rodeos. These are only some of the many attractions presented by over a dozen sponsors along the avenue tomorrow.
Just like these hot summer days, the summer festivals season will soon be just a memory. So, don’t miss this family fun event. Get out and join your neighbors for some community fun while learning valuable health tips anyone can use.
