This time of year, allowing your furry family members outside to frolic and play with their human counterparts are few and far between, even though the Columbus area bark parks are open and being used by the ones that brave the weather, most people do not take their four-legged family member’s out and about unless it is to just do their business.
With the temperatures dropping, you can still do your part of for the animal community. There are a number of organizations holding events in or around the Columbus area in support for animals. Even though you can not take Fido, you can still show your support by attending the functions. A couple of events that are coming up to help animals in the Columbus area are the Lint Roller Skating Party, and the Paws to Party-Wine Tasting and Silent Auction. Both are being held by the same organization, Citizens for Humane Action Animal Shelter.
The Lint Roller Skating is going to be held on Wednesday January 27th, 2010 at SkateZone71 from 6:00-9:00 pm. The SkateZone71 is located at 4900 Evanswood Dr., Columbus, OH 43229. Come out and enjoy skating and pizza, with the whole family.
The second event is the Paws to Party-Wine Tasting and Silent Auction, for those of you who have a love for wine and pets this is the place to be, also sponsored by the CHA Animal Shelter. This event is Friday February 12, 2010 from 6:30pm to 10:30pm at the Greystone Wine Cellar, located at 544 South Front St. in the Brewery District. The wines are selections from the greater Ohio area. For more information you can check out their events calendar.
