Can you think of a better way to kick off a weekend than leaving work, or home if you don’t work, and spending the afternoon/early evening listening to some damn fine tunes and enjoying an ice cold Georgia home brewed beer? Well this Friday you can do just that. Marietta’s own Mike Snowden will be taking care of the music and Red Hare Brewery will be in charge of the cold beer.
Snowden not only plays some mighty fine blues, but he does it on homemade cigar box guitars. Consisting of three and four string versions, Snowden switches back and forth between multiple guitars as he manipulates each one to achieve the perfect sound. From raunchy Texas blues to the smooth swampy sounds of the South he can get those original instruments to make whatever sound he wants. In addition to playing the guitar and singing he also handles drumming duties. Trust me you need to see this. His set list will be full of originals as well as a nice cover or two so it should be a mighty fine night of music.
So get to the Red Hare Brewery and start your weekend off right. The festivities start at 5:30 p.m. and rap up around 7:30 p.m. That gives you plenty of time to warm up with Mike before hitting the town. Like I said, great music and cold beer go hand in hand. If you see me around feel free to say hi.
