The Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation invites you to experience Native American music, dancing, food, and art at the 24th Annual Sycuan Pow-Wow in El Cajon, CA on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (September 13th, 14th, and 15th).
A Pow-Wow is a time for people to come together to sing, dance and socialize. Watch as beautifully dressed competitors vie for prize money in categories including bird singing, dancing, and drum. Learn Native American culture and traditions through blessing and honoring ceremonies and take a place in the circle during the "intertribal" dance celebration.
The Sycuan Pow-Wow will begin on Friday at 7pm with Gourd Dancing, followed by the Grand Entry at 8pm. On Saturday the Grand Entry will be at 1pm and 8pm and at 1pm only on Sunday. Both Grand Entries will be preceded by Gourd Dancing.
The Pow-Wow will be held on the Sycuan Reservation at 5459 Sycuan Rd., El Cajon, CA 92019. The Pow-Wow arena is near the Sycuan Casino, about 30 miles from downtown San Diego.
