Comcast is going through an expansion of its customer service program known as “Center of Excellence” in Fort Myers and will hire 200 new customer service agents and 20 leadership positions by the end of 2014. All this growth involves and expansion of the customer-dedicated “Center of Excellence” and Call Center facility to more than 400 employees, according to a June 26 statement from the Office of Governor Rick Scott.
In the statement, Governor Rick Scott was quoted as saying, “Comcast Corporation has shown that investing in Florida is good for business, and recently announced Universal Orlando’s addition of 3,500 new jobs in Florida. We must continue to create an environment where companies like Comcast can continue to succeed and where every Floridian who wants a job can get one,” said Governor Scott.
Comcast is hiring people throughout Florida. Comcast had made announcement that it will be hiring for 300 open positions throughout Miami-Dade and Broward Counties. It is offering jobs in fields such as sales, customer service, call center, technical operations and supervisory sales, according to the June 26 statement from the Office of Governor Rick Scott.
“This is really good news for Florida. I am so glad that more companies are expanding their operations and hiring more people,” said Kimberly Black. She works as a waitress.
“Jobs like this are very good for Florida residents. When companies are hiring that means more people get a chance at high paying jobs with good benefits,” said Terry Wells, a carpenter.
“I might apply for one of those jobs. I know Comcast is a good company. I have friends who work for Comcast and they love the company. I hope it keeps expanding. We need more jobs to help the economy,” said Alexis Burke.
