Comcast in Utah hosting opening ceremony party with two Olympians

Tonight, Xfinity from Comcast will celebrate the Sochi Winter Olympic opening ceremony with the community at the Utah Valley Convention Center in Provo.

Olympic medalist speed skaters Chad Hedrick and Derek Parra will be present at the free party to take autographs and photographs.

Comcast’s Xfinity TV is set to present NBCUniversal’s coverage of the 2014 Winter Olympics by kicking off the games at 7 p.m., featuring two mega-sized screens for the public to view the opening ceremony. Throughout the evening until 10 p.m., those attending may participate in giveaways, free food, beverages and crafts.

Giveaways will take place for the duration of the evening at the Comcast booth. KSL 5 TV’s Facebook page will also be awarding prizes such as iPad minis, tickets to local attractions and gift cards.

Activities for families include face painting, Olympic sport photo backdrops, and creating medals.
