Comcast Corporation was recently named as VOIP Provider of the Year in North America by Polycom Inc. in its 2014 Partner Awards.

Comcast’s VOIP and Business VoiceEdge were the winning services based on several factors, including:

• execution and performance
• customer success
• business results and
• overall commitment to co-development innovative solutions

Comcast was nominated alongside 8x8, RingCentral, TDS and Verizon in the Theater Partner of the Year category. According to Polycom, it honors providers with “a proven track record or solution selling and consultative approach with customers and excels at incorporating value-added solutions in Theater.”

The award comes on the heels of a September 2013 upgrade to Business VoiceEdge. Comcast Business expanded capabilities for Business VoiceEdge in order for its unified communications and video calling features to be used on iOS and Android devices.

Business VoiceEdge is a cloud-based phone system aimed at providing customers speed and efficiency without the need for hardware monitoring.
