Comcast Offers Utahns Complimentary Access to the Sochi Olympics

On February 6, Comcast began to offer unrestricted access to thousands of Xfinity WiFi hotspots in Utah.

The hotspots include high-traffic locations such as shopping districts, parks, train platforms and in small businesses for the duration of the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics. Now through February 24, in Xfinity WiFi-launched areas, Xfinity customers and non-customers will have access to Xfinity WiFi by selecting “xfinitywifi” on their wireless device and following the prompts to begin their WiFi session.

The Xfinity WiFi hotspots may be found by visiting www.hotspots.wifi.comcast.com.

Popular locations in Salt Lake City surrounded by hotspots include:

  • Liberty Park
  • Trolley Square
  • Energy Solutions Arena
  • Pioneer Park

Comcast, for the first time, will offer all new Xfinity TV Customers the ability to enjoy all of the Olympics programming prior to the installation of service in their home. Customers will have access to exclusive online Olympics HD content as well as NBCUniversal’s streaming, live coverage of all 98 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics events at NBCOlympics.com or through NBC Sports Live Extra app on their mobile devices. New Customers can create a Comcast ID and password immediately after completing their order at Comcast.com/GetStarted.
