Comcast, NBC Universal to Hire 1,000 More Veterans

Denver is home to more than 35,000 veterans, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. For many of these veterans, often times the most difficult part of coming home is making a smooth transition from military to civilian life. Finding a career can be a key component in making that successful transition. That’s why in 2012 Comcast and NBCUniversal made a pledge as part of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation's “Hiring Our Heroes” initiative to hire 1,000 veterans before 2014. In the Mile High region alone, Comcast has already hired 27 veterans.

Well, the companies have already met their goal ahead of schedule, matching 1,000 veterans from around the country with rewarding civilian careers. Now Comcast and NBCUniversal plans to double that pledge by committing to hire another 1,000 veterans by 2015. Positions include network engineering, technology, operations, theme parks and resorts, programming, customer service, marketing, human resources and other careers.
