Comcast finishes digital conversion, launches 39 new HD channels in Gallup

Comcast today announced that it has completed its digital migration to a full digital delivery system in Gallup, New Mexico. This brings 39 new High-Definition (HD) channels as well as an expanded selection of HD On Demand choices to residential homes and businesses as part of Comcast’s growing Xfinity TV catalog. Comcast began a digital initiative in Gallup in 2013 which converted channels 2 to 82 from analog to digital, and began laying the framework needed to launch these new products and services to customers there.

The new programming will be available to both residential and business Comcast customers in the Gallup area. Included in the dozens of new HD channels are popular networks such as AMC, Comedy Central, Food Network, NBC Sports Network, ROOT Sports and USA. Customers with an Xfinity MultiLatino package will also receive more than a dozen new Spanish language channels.

In addition to these new HD Channels, Comcast continues to deliver more HD content via Xfinity On Demand. With more than 100,000 of the best and newest TV shows and movies across TV, PCs and mobile devices, many of which are in HD, Xfinity TV continues to provide customers everything they need to enjoy their favorite content when and where they want to watch it.

Customers who have a digital set-top box on all televisions in their home won’t need to take any action to enjoy the new channels and On Demand content. Customers who have additional televisions without a digital set-top box will need to get a digital device to continue receiving their channels.
