Combat allergy face during Cedar Fever season

Cedar Fever season is a miserable time for people with allergies. The symptoms from the allergies can result in “allergy face.” Learn a few tips and trips to combating the dreaded allergy face.

Symptoms of Cedar Fever are sneezing, itchy eyes and nose, and nasal congestion. Red noses, puffy faces and watery eyes are called “allergy face.”

Beauty expert Rebekah George explains tips to try when “allergy face” rears its ugly head. Allergy face beauty tips brought to you by the makers of Zyrtec.

Puffy face: Drink plenty of water to keep skin hydrated. In bed at night, use an extra pillow or two to keep your head elevated. The elevation can help drain the fluid from your face.

Red nose: Apply a thick layer of cream on your face before you go to bed. In the morning, apply light-weight oil. Let the oil dry then apply a yellow-based concealer and copper toned bronzer. This will cancel out the redness. Also switch to tissues with lotion as they are gentler on the skin.

Brighten eyes: When eyes feel overly irritated, skip the eye shadow and use bright blue waterproof mascara instead. You will avoid any further irritation from the eye makeup and the blue mascara will brighten and open up the eyes. For puffy eyes, keep two spoons in the freezer. Place them on the eyes to help de-puff. The metal in the spoon will hold the cold longer than using cucumber slices.
