Columbus Winter Beerfest spotlights craft beers

Cleveland beer enthusiasts should not miss the 4th annual Columbus Winter Beerfest, a celebration of craft beers, being held on Friday, January 17 and Saturday, January 18 at the Convention Center in Columbus, Ohio. It is approximately a 2 hour drive from Cleveland to Columbus.

Columbus Winter Beerfest Featuring over 300 craft beers from over 60 breweries (including Cleveland's Fat Head's and Akron's Thirsty Dog Brewing Company), the Columbus Winter Beerfest gives beer lovers the chance to sample and enjoy world class beverages from all over the country.

VIP admission tickets include an early entry to the event (6:30 p.m.), an 8 ounce souvenir acrylic sampling glass and 25 tasting tickets. Cost is $60 at the door ($50 with advance purchase through January 16). Regular admission includes a 5 ounce acrylic sampling glass and 25 tasting tickets with a 7:30 entry to the event. Cost is $50 at the door and $40 for advance tickets through January 16.

New this year is the Connoisseur Ticket Package which includes VIP early admission, a special souvenir glass and access into the Connoisseur Reception Area where appetizer bites from 8-10 area restaurants, each paired with a rare/super premium beer, will be served from 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Beer service stops at 10 p.m. Connoisseur ticket holders wiil also enjoy a "no wait" entrance area and access to private restrooms. Feel free to come and go as you please.

Cost of the Connoisseur Ticket package is $100 the day of the event and $80 in advance through January 16.

Admission for Designated Drivers is $20 and the price includes a $5 coupon for food and water/soft drinks. Connoisseur Designated Driver tickets are $30 and include the main event. Designated Driver tickets must be purchased in advance. No Designated Driver tickets will be sold at the door.

You must be 21 years of age to attend this event.

For those guests (VIP and Connoisseur ticket holders only) who wish to stay overnight, the Hyatt Regency Columbus (attached to the Convention Center) is offering a special package deal. The package must be purchased prior to the Columbus Winter Beerfest. Rooms with two double beds are being offered for $150.93 per night.
