At the top of this week’s list of educational events, the COSI “Curious George” exhibit allows kids to interact with displays and learn math and science concepts. See the Experience Columbus site for details, including Center hours and the cost of the admission, which includes this exhibit. “Curious George” runs through Jan. 4.
Also interactive, and described as a “real hands-on cooking” experience, Young Chefs Academy has cooking classes for three to six-year-olds. This unique event is designed to appeal to all their senses, and familiarizes them with basic activities involved in cooking. There will be a new recipe each week, and students get to color, hear stories or play games related to what they’ve learned. Cost of admission ranges from $15 to $30 for each class. Please follow the Academy link for particulars.
Last but not least this week, adults can learn some basics about starting their own businesses at “Business Information 1 - For Startup Entrepreneurs.” The focus is on researching industries and companies that interest students, and on writing the all-important business plan. The class takes place Dec. 5 at the Columbus Metropolitan Library in downtown Columbus. For more information, follow the link in this paragraph.
