Columbus Short of 'Scandal' arrested on felony battery charge

'Scandal' actor Columbus Short was arrested Wednesday, April 9, 2014 on a felony battery charge for a previous fight in a Los Angeles restaurant according to HLNTV. The fight occurred on March 15 according to the complaint filed with the Claremont Police Department.

According to the complaint filed with the police department, the man claims he was knocked out by Short and received serious bodily injuries. Short, who is 31 was released from jail later in the day on Wednesday after posting bail of $50,000.

If convicted, Short could spend up to four years in a state prison. As of today, Short's representatives have not made any attempts to comment to the press about the incident

Short, an actor, plays the role of an attorney on the popular ABC drama 'Scandal.' The final episode of the season airs next week on Thursday, April 17, 2014 where fans will find out if and when the bomb actually goes off and the outcome of the explosion. Short got his start in acting by doing commercials in his teen years followed by a tour with a dance troop for the Broadway show 'Stomp.' He later used his talents to choreographed the dance moves for Britney Spears 'In the Zone' tour. Short is also a writer, director and musician.

While a man of many talents, Short's first love was acting and that is what he has turned to as his profession. Short's popularity soared after he played the leading role of DJ in the movie "Stomp the Yard" in 2007 that grossed over $73.4 million and claimed the #1 spot in the box office sales for two weeks. Since the popularity and success of that movie, he has been a much sought after actor.
