Replica's of the Nina and Pinta, two of the ships Columbus used to "Discover" America, will be coming to the Chesapeake Bay this Spring.

May 10th, the replica ships will be coming to the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum in St. Michaels, MD and will be available to be boarded by the public.

According to an article in Spinsheet Magazine, "The ships are a sailing museum dedicated to educating the public
and school children. Onboard exhibits feature the Age of Discovery, navigation, ship building in Columbus’ day, and more.
You can board the ships between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., May 10-18, for unscheduled, self-guided tours. Tickets are $8 for adults, $6 for students, and children 4 and under are free.

Both ships are replicas owned and operated out of the Columbus Foundation, located in the British Virgin Islands. TheNina is the exact replica and was completely built in 1991 by hand without the use of power tools.
The Pinta is an authentic reproduction, but is a larger version of her archetypal caravel, offering more deck space to explore aboard."

A day spent the the museum is always a pleasure, even more so with these floating museums tied up to the dock.
