Columbus, Ohio is playing host (on Thursday, September 19 and Friday, September 20) to the ultimate extravaganza that every food and wine connoisseur will not want to miss -- the Columbus Food and Wine Affair that culminates with a premier Grand Tasting event.
Columbus Food & Wine Affair A 2-day event that offers more than 400 award-winning wines and tastings from 50 of the finest restaurants in Central Ohio, The Columbus Food & Wine Affair is really a "must-see" for wine and fine cuisine lovers.
Offered Thursday, September 19 from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. at the Renaissance Columbus Downtown hotel, Cena di Vino offers a five-course dinner featuring the delectable culinary fare of Chef Dean James Max where each course will be paired with various wines from Fetzer Vineyards and Treasury Wine Estates.
Among some of the menu offerings will be local apple and fennel soup, Black Cod en Papillote, local roasted peppers, Blues Creek Lamb Shoulder and Porterhouse Chop, organic goat cheese polenta and pickled eggplant. The dinner also includes hors d'oeuvres and an extensive dessert course.
Tickets for the Cena di Vino event are $100 per person. The Renaissance Columbus Downtown is located at 50 N. Third Street in Columbus.
The Discover Hospitality event is taking place from 5 p.m. - 10 p.m. on Friday, September 20 at the Community Gardens of Franklin Conservatory ( 1777 Broad St.) This event offers an exclusive preview to the Grand Tasting and also features the cuisine and fine wines of Italy.
The Grand Tasting event is being offered from 6 p.m. - 10 p.m. also at the picturesque Franklin Park Conservatory where guests can choose from over 400 wines paired with tastings from 50 Columbus area restaurants. The evening will also include musical entertainment and displays from creative artists.
A combined ticket to both the Discover Hospitality event and the Grand Tasting is $195 per person and includes an early entrance to the event, complimentary valet parking, all of the delectable food with the wine pairings, a silent auction, all entertainment and your ticket to the Grand Tasting. Admission to the Grand Tasting alone is $130 per person.
Proceeds from all events go to the Central Ohio Restaurant Association Foundations (providing educational opportunities for those students wishing to enter the hospitality and culinary industry) and provides benefits to various charities including the Mid-Ohio Foodbank and Goodwill Family and Friends.
