A family-friendly educational outing is in store for those Clevelanders who venture to the state capital to attend the 58th annual Columbus International Festival on Saturday, November 2 and Sunday, November 3 where traditions, heritage and diversity of the world's multitude of cultures are celebrated. It is approximately a 2 hour drive from Cleveland.
Columbus International Festival Visitors will get the chance to explore the world at the Festival with over 200 exhibitors representing over 80 countries offering arts, crafts, entertainment, food and information about their nation's culture. A children's area will feature demonstrations and international arts & crafts for youth of all ages.
There will be continuous entertainment on two performance stages throughout the International Festival. Some of the countries represented with vocal and instrumental ensembles and dance troupes include China, India, Iran, Germany, Poland, England, Spain, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, France, the Philippines, Ireland, Haiti, Russia, Slovakia and islands of the Caribbean.
In addition to being able to enjoy international cuisine, there will be culinary exhibits and demonstrations where visitors can observe and learn about various foods and dishes.
The Festival will also feature a Global Marketplace where visitors can purchase arts & crafts and merchandise from international vendors.
Other activities at the Festival include a 5K Run/Walk (on Sunday morning), a Parade of Nations (Saturday and Sunday at 3 p.m.) and free flu shots and eye, dental and medical screenings.
There will also be a U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Naturalization Oath Ceremony on Saturday at 10 a.m.
Hours for the Columbus International Festival are 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is $7 for adults, $5 for seniors and $2 for children (5-12). Children under 5 are free. Parking fees vary.
