January is proving to be an eventful month for Columbia’s world of fashion. From grand openings to fashion galas, there are enough happenings to keep the fashion minded event wanderer content. Here are some events that deserve special mention.
Saturday, January 5th, Karen “Cocoa” Lewis, New Jersey native, launched KTL Shoes. The event was kicked off with a fashion review of her current stock of shoes featuring appearances from Chicagolicious’s Austin Maxfield, and ANTM 13’s Bianca Richardson. Attendees included some of Columbia’s well recognized socialites, including Stefon Hall, celebrity stylist; Ebony Looney, fashion writer and owner of Make Me Over Eb; and Vonyetta Lake, 103.9FM radio personality. KTL Shoes is now open for business in the Tapps Building located downtown Columbia, SC on Main Street.
Saturday, January 26th, is a double feature day as M2 Boutique Clothier and Columbia Style Week 2013 will both be hosting events. M2 Boutique Clothier will be hosting its grand reopening, celebrating its move to a new location. M2 was previous located in the Capital City’s restaurant and nightlife district, The Vista. Its new location is 2317 Two Notch Road in the newly renovated McGraw Plaza. During the grand reopening celebration, M2 promises great fashion and awesome prices. The celebration will commence at 6pm.
Columbia Style Week, Columbia’s official five day fashion week initiative, will be hosting the 2nd Annual “Follow Your Heart” Charity Auction and Gala at Chelsea’s Upstairs. This is a charity fashion event and part of the proceeds will benefit The American Heart Association of Columbia. Attendees are encouraged to show support by fashionably sporting red attire. The evening will include a brief panel discussion about heart disease, a red runway tribute, and a networking mixer.
There is much to be done in the Capital City fashion scene this month.
