A Columbia man is accused of molesting two girls in two counties, and investigators said one of them was a 10-year-old relative who has since been placed in child protective services custody.
Mr. Charles R. Bradberry, 33, was charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor and second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, Columbia police said Tuesday.
Mr. Bradberry allegedly coerced two girls, 10 and 14, to perform a sex act on him at a Columbia apartment complex earlier this year, police spokeswoman Ms. Jennifer Timmons said.
Investigators said Mr. Bradberry also allegedly took pictures of the sex acts.
The 10-year-old girl was taken into emergency protective custody while the other girl was being cared for by relatives.
Mr. Bradberry has been previously charged in a similar case in Kershaw County, Ms. Timmons said.
Investigators with the Kershaw County Sheriff's Department told WIS-TV that Mr. Bradberry molested the 10-year-old relative and the 14-year-old daughter of his former girlfriend.
Investigators learned he was living in Columbia with his girlfriend and the 10-year-old alleged victim.
The mother of the 14-year-old reported to Columbia police that her daughter had been molested in November, the news station said.
Investigators say the 10-year-old told them she was molested in Columbia and Kershaw County.
Mr. Bradberry, who was being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center, had several previous arrests including criminal domestic violence, kidnapping and violation of a protective order, officials said.
