The Columbia Lakefront Film Festival kicks off with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows: Part One on Friday. Enjoy the summer air and breeze off the lake every Monday and Friday night at the Columbia Lakefront Stage. Sponsored by the Columbia Association, the festival is designed to be family friendly, date-night friendly, and I just love movies friendly. The screenings have been fit into two categories: Monday night movies focus on films for the family while Friday nights promise a variety of movies for everyone’s taste. Screenings start at dusk (around 8:00 pm) and no admission fee is charged.
Unlike other summer festivals, The Columbia Lakefront Film Festival continues into September. The month of movies begins with a weekend celebration of Pixar’s 25thAnniversary. Three of the most popular Pixar films will be shown that Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Screenings of fun family movies will then continue every Friday and Saturday till September 17th.
