Andrew Luck is now know as mister fourth quarter, as he rallied his troops from a 24-6 deficit, to obtain the 27-24 victory over their AFC South rival Houston Texans.
Texans head coach Gary Kubiak collapsed on the field as his team made it into the tunnel for halftime. Kubiak was attended by medical staff and carried out on a stretcher to a local hospital.
The Texans were not the same dominate team in the second half as they were in the first half.
"We were all very, very worried. When we went back out they told us he was ... stable. We were all upset about that but trying to stay focused at the same time," said Case Keenum.
From a source, I was told that Kubiak suffered from exhaustion and possible dehydration symptoms.
The Texans started out remarkable when Keenum capped off the opening drive with a 62 yard pass launched to Andre Johnson for the 7-0 lead.
Later on in the first quarter Keenum connected with his favorite target again in Johnson across the middle for the 41 yard touchdown and the 14-0 lead.
Texans defense keep Andrew Luck in check for the first half, limiting the Colts to a field goal in the second quarter. Luck was sacked three times in the quarter.
Keenum connecting again with Johnson on a 5 yard touchdown pass for the 21-3 halftime lead.
Texans defensive coordinator Wade Phillips took over in the absence of Kubiak in the second half.
The Colts continued to struggle getting in the end zone and settled again for an Adam Vinatieri field goal. The Colts trailed 21-6 in the third quarter.
Luck finally found his rhythm with he connected with T.Y. Hilton on a 10 yard touchdown pass. Colts failed to convert the 2 point conversion and still trailed 24-12.
Luck was able to throw a couple of more touchdown passes to Hilton, as the Colts rallied past the Texans for the win.
Luck finished 18/26 with 271 yards, and 3 touchdowns for the victory.
Keenum who had a brilliant performance at home finished 20/34 with 350 passing and 3 touchdowns in the loss.
Andre Johnson finished with 9 receptions, 3 touchdown for 229 yards on the night.
Colts QB Andrew Luck spoke the second half turn around, "I think we settled down a bit and just played ball."
After the game Texans GM Rick Smith gave an update on the condition of Gary Kubiak.
"He went to a knee, and they laid him on the ground. He is stable; for precautionary reasons we wanted to get him to the hospital. We have to assess ... obviously, there's a lot of info. Hopefully, Gary will be back with us tomorrow. He is alert and coherent"
The Texans fall to 2-6 on the season, while the Colts advance to 6-2 and remain in first place in the AFC South.
JJ Watt had 1 sack and a blocked punt in the game.
