Indianapolis Colts rookie, John Boyett, was arrested early Monday morning after a night out on the town. Sources say Boyett was charged with public intoxication and resisting arrest. The Colts followed up with his arrest by waiving him from their squad. At a time when players are fighting for a chance to win a spot on the final 53-man roster, Boyett made the Colts' decision a little easier.
According to NFL.com, Boyett was arrested downtown when he decided to run away from the arresting officer.
Boyett proceed to tell the police, "you can't arrest me; I'm a Colts player."
Reportedly, the young safety got violent with law enforcement. He told the officer he was going to "come back and break your jaw."
Boyett was the Colts' sixth-round draft pick out of Oregon in the 2013 NFL Draft. Prior to being waived, the rookie's name could be found on a non-football related injury list.
The Indianapolis Colts have yet to comment on the situation.
