Colts owner Jim Irsay pays $8,500 to a fan for picking Ravens vs. Patriots score

Jim Irsay gets it. This guy has to be hands down one of the coolest owners in pro sports. The Indianapolis Colts owner went on his Twitter page and offered fans cash if they could pick the championship games correctly.

How cool is that!

The NFL high ups may not like this, but I think it's a great example of a guy in touch with fans and reality. A cool owner with lots of money giving it away on Twitter - that should be praised, not condemned.

Last Sunday Irsay tweeted "Again,$8500 for winner of Pats/Rave,exact score with 1 point cushion for both teams for final score/1 guess only by 630pm EST/Abby's hatpick"

According to Yahoo! on Jan. 24, a fan named Jason guessed the final score of the AFC title game to be 27-13 Ravens, missing the actual score by one point 28-13. Irsay reached out to the winner asking for his mailing address and on Tuesday a FedEx packaged arrived with 85 one hundred dollar bills along with a note from Irsay.

Irsay also held contests for the San Francisco vs. Atlanta game ($2000 to the first to pick the winner, quarterback rating winner, and total score) and a "conservative" AFC championship pick ($500 for the winner straight up).
