Colts owner Jim Irsay made things interesting for fans this morning by presenting them with the challenge, guess who will be named as head coach by midnight and be in with the chance to win two tickets for the super bowl.
Irsay earlier tweeted:
"Predict new Indianapolis Colts Head Coach, win 2 Super Bowl Tics! 1 guess only, u must guess by midnight tonight EST, Abby's hatpick! GOOD LUCK"
The tweet has stirred much excitement as it implies the revealing of the Colts new head coach may take place tomorrow.
Irsay's Twitter page shows Jim Tressel appears to be the clear favorite based on fans guesses, with other potential candidates including Pete Carmichael from New Orleans; Mike Zimmer from Cincinnati; and Baltimore's Chuck Pagano who was interviewed earlier today.
All fans who correctly guess who will be named as the new head coach will have their names placed in a hat. Irsay's assistant Abby will then select one name at random in order to decide the winner. The lucky winner will then be presented with two of the very sought after tickets to Super Bowl XLVI which will see the Giants go up against the patriots at Lucas Oil Stadium on the 5th February.
This will spark a feeling of déjà vu for many, as it will see a rematch of Super Bowl XLII in which these teams went up against each other for a gripping showdown. This game saw the Giants win it in the last dying minute. At 3rd and 5 with 1:15 left in the game, David Tyree amazed everyone when he caught the ball against his helmet for a gain of 32 yards, which ultimately led to the game winning touchdown for the Giants.
