Colors by culture

Colors are more than paint on a canvas, print on a sign, or an image on an advertisment. Color is part of our culture and how we react to colors is heavily influenced by it. Psychologically, the human brain reacts to basic colors to produce a feeling or instinct. For instance blues having a calming effect and red makes us hungry. However, all over the world, perceptions of color and the messages they convey to us can be vastly different. White in Western culture is often seen as pure and good while in Far Eastern culture it is reserved for funerals and those in mourning. Green ranges from jealousy and greed in some parts of the world and fertility and hope in others. It's all about perception.

Take a look at this infographic for more on how our culture influences how we react and respond to color. Don't forget to let us know what you think in the comments, like, and share!
