The Colorado Wine Week event lineup is set, highlighted by the Farm-to-Turntable Keg Wine bash at The Infinite Monkey Theorem winery in Denver.

This party will kick off Colorado Wine Week presented by Alpine Bank on June 1, setting in motion a 7-day celebration of local wine at dozens of restaurants and venues across the Denver Metro Area. Wine Week culminates with the grand tasting, Colorado Urban Winefest June 7 at Infinity Park.

Here are the week’s highlights:

Farm to Turntable Keg Wine Party (supporting Heroes Like Us)
June 1, The Infinite Monkey Theorem Winery, $25
Several of Colorado’s top wineries will tap wine kegs to kick off Colorado Wine Week at the trendy IMT winery in the Rino neighborhood of Denver. Five Denver restaurants will provide the food via passed finger-food-friendly dishes set to a live DJ. Ticket includes food, entertainment and one complimentary glass of wine. Cash bar for additional wine purchases. A portion of the ticket proceeds benefit Heroes Like Us, a Denver-based chef-driven nonprofit fighting childhood hunger.

The 3rd Annual Colorado Wine Cocktail Competition
June 4, Green Russell, $15
We take six of the city’s best mixologists, and challenge them to create a terrior-inspired cocktail with Colorado wine the star. Joe Hines, the beverage director at Dazzle Restaurant & Lounge, headlines as he attempts a three-peat. “If I win 3 in a row, I want to retire and become an honorary judge for the rest of eternity,” Hines says. The event is hosted at Green Russell. Ticket includes entrance and one complimentary Colorado wine cocktail. A limited food and cocktail menu will be on special for additional purchase.

The Governor’s Cup Wine Mixer
June 6, Hyatt Place Cherry Creek, $25
The Governor’s Cup is the most prestigious wine competition each year in Colorado, bringing in the top regional experts to laud the year’s top releases. This mixer is a chance to taste some of the winners — and meet those who crafted them. Ticket includes entrance, wine samples and light food.

Colorado Urban Winefest presented by Alpine Bank
June 7, Infinity Park in Glendale, $40
The ultimate tasting to cap off Colorado Wine Week, more than three dozen Colorado wineries will sample 100s of styles produced this year. This festival is the best chance to meet and taste a wide assortment of Colorado-produced wines. The festival includes a celebrity chef demo stage provided by Wolf Subzero, a VIP experience, wine education, and more. Early bird tickets ($30) are still available.

Food + Wine: Interesting Colorado Wine Week Pairings
June 1-7, various restaurants
More than 50 restaurants in Denver, Boulder, Ft. Collins and Colorado Springs will be offering unique food and Colorado wine pairings for $20 or less. Now in it’s third year, this event has become one of the most important efforts in marrying the Colorado restaurant, foodie and wine communities. The Colorado Wine Industry Development Board is sponsoring the pairings.

The Colorado Association for Viticulture & Enology organizes these Colorado Wine Week events. CAVE is a member-based association that exists to encourage and support enology and viticulture in Colorado. CAVE promotes the interests of Colorado grape growers and wineries in legislative and political matters, provides a forum for the exchange of ideas, and disseminates current information pertaining to optimum winemaking and agriculture practices for vineyards in the area. CAVE seeks to establish contacts and relationships with other associations, both regional and statewide, to further development and growth of the industry.
