Colorado symphony prepares to open 2009-2010 season

The Colorado Symphony Orchestra  returns to Boettcher Concert hall in the Denver Performing Arts Center this friday with their season opening concert. Joining the symphony as a guest is Argentinean pianist Ingrid Fliter. Fliter is a frequent guest with orchestras the United States and will be performing the Schumann Piano Concerto in A Minor (1845). Other works on the program include: Short Ride in a Fast Machine (1986) by John Adams, Brazilian Impressions (1927) and Pines of Rome (1924) by Ottorino Respighi. Jeffrey Kahane leads the orchestra Friday, September 11th and Saturday, September 12th.
