Colorado Springs welcomes GalaxyFest in February

Winter warms up a bit when the famous Antlers Hilton in downtown Colorado Springs welcomes science fiction, fantasy, and horror enthusiasts to their annual GalaxyFest Convention Feb. 7-10. Attending conventions is the chance for young and the young at heart to socialize with people who share in their common interests. It is also their opportunity to meet their favorite actors, authors, and artists. Slated to appear so far are actresses Claudia Christian and Cindy Pickett, Doctor Who alum Frazer Hines, and actors Felix Silva and Tony Todd plus more names to be announced shortly. GalaxyFest launches the even with their Thursday Zombie Crawl and Launch Party Feb. 3. This is the chance for fans to break out their old clothing, zombie them up right, and then ramble around downtown Colorado Springs. There will be plenty of gaming, video rooms, and activities for the kids. As always there will be workshops and panels involving cosplay, science fiction, and horror panels including Build your Own Droid, Time Traveling Paradoxes, and Girls and Ghouls. For the collectable enthusiasts there will be a good sized vendor room to pick up those hard to find items. The convention will offer after dark activities for guests 18 and over to be able to close out the nights right.
