It has been said by some that Colorado Springs is the "capitol of figure skating" and that statement does seem true as skaters training in Colorado Springs head to "nationals" each year.
World figure skating Patrick Chan, who lives and trains in Colorado Springs, will be defending his title in the upcoming week at the 2013 Canadian National Figure Skating Championships. In addition, long-time Colorado Springs resident, Alexe Gilles will be competing in the Canadian senior ladies event.
Many Colorado Springs figure skaters qualified for the 2013 US National Figure Skating Championships.
