The new name is part of a rebranding process that began with the merger of International Bible Society and Send the Light in 2007. "Biblica," affirms their passion and commitment to engage people worldwide with Scripture. Keith Danby, Global President and CEO of Biblica, said, "The name Biblica clearly reflects an emphasis on the Bible, and it communicates our focus on helping transform lives through the power of God's Word."
International Bible Society, founded in 1809, has served individuals and organizations through Bible translation, publishing, distribution, and outreach. They are the copyright holder of the New International Version (NIV) Bible, which is the most-read contemporary English translation, with more than 350 million copies in print worldwide.
Send the Light was established more than 50 years ago by Operation Mobilization founder George Verwer with worldwide Bible and Christian book distribution as its vision. STL has become one of the largest distributors of Christian resources, with distribution centers in the U.K., India, and the U.S. STL also has retail operations in various parts of the world.
