CENTENNIAL, Colo. - Sad top news coming in to San Francisco today is that the victim who was critically wounded, after the shooting at the Arapahoe High School in Colorado on December 13, has now died of her injuries.
"Despite the best efforts of our physicians and nursing staff, and Claire's fighting spirit, her injuries were too severe and the most advanced medical treatments could not prevent this tragic loss of life. Claire's death is immensely heartbreaking for our entire community, our staff and our families," said the statement.
It was on Friday, December 13, that Karl Pierson, age 18, proceeded through the north entrance to his school with a loaded shotgun, three Molotov cocktails, a machete, and over 125 rounds of ammunition, all ready to be used.
"When will all this senseless killing end?" says San Francisco resident, Katie Adler.
Once inside the school, Pierson started firing randomly, killing Davis when he shot her point-blank in the head as she sat close to the library. The student, just 17 years old, was immediately hospitalized, where she remained until she died on Saturday.
Her family have asked for privacy during this difficult time.
