The Rapids are teaming up with Colorado Christian University, Saturday, September 24, 2011, to present Faith and Futbol Night at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, when the Rapids take on the San Jose Earthquakes.
The club announced on Tuesday, “The event will feature speeches from Rapids midfielder Wells Thompson and former Liverpool player Gary Evans, the current head coach of the men’s team at Colorado Christian University, as well as live performances by Christian rock groups Chasen and Everfound.”
Faith and Futbol will begin at 4:00 p.m. in the grass and parking lots on the southeast side of the stadium. Everfound starts this rare line-up of Christian music and a unique opportunity to hear the life changing testimony of Colorado Rapids Wells Thompson. Fans will also enjoy prizes and giveaways throughout the night, including Rapids tickets and signed merchandise.
The MLS Champions will end the night by taking on San Jose Earthquakes at 7:00 pm, as they battle their way to the playoffs.
