Colorado MMA ring girl Jessica Boisseaux to host fundraiser for Special Olympics

Colorado-based MMA ring girl Jessica Boisseaux said on Jan. 15 in an exclusive interview with Long Island MMA Examiner Eric Holden that she is set to host a fundraiser in Colorado to benefit the Special Olympics.

Boisseaux, who will be appearing as a ring girl on Jan. 25 at Denver's Paramount Theater for an MMA Prize fighting event, is pleased to announce that donations have already started to pour in.

"More donations are rolling in!" Boisseaux said. "Thank you to Casey O'Day for donating a photoshoot valued at 200$ Seth Daniels for donating tickets to the next BJJ tournament, Lauren Sugihara for donating a month of kickboxing lessons, Ashley Chris Fiske for getting a donation to a salon, Blue Rose Tattoo for donating a 50$ gift card and Tori Black for donating a custom cake valued at 100$! Thank you guys the overwhelming support is so touching! Also, thanks to Island Tat Josh for donating two shirts and American Ground N Pound and Mass Destruction MMA Mike Laurita for donating some awesome sweatpants."

Boisseaux, Colorado's 2011 Ring Girl of the Year, is well-known for her charitable efforts. She works for multiple programs for kids with special needs, and also serves on the board for the Global Down Syndrome Foundation.

Boisseaux also volunteers for the Special Olympics and the Mile High Down Syndrome Foundation. In the summer, she is a camp counselor at a special needs camp. As you can see, her heart lies with lending a helping hand to gifted children.

"The Special Olympics is an organization that hosts competitive sports for kids with special needs. They host games three times a year along with various get togethers that are only funded by fundraisers," Boisseaux said. "I am hosting a fundraiser Feb. 1 at 7 p.m. at Clavin's Bar and Rrill in Parker, Colorado. We have a ton of donations that will hopefully raise money to go towards their fundraiser called the polar plunge. I have raised $140 and hopefully with this auction/ raffle on the Feb. 1, it will bring in more money for charity."
