A Colorado man is accused of viciously attacking two raccoons with a nail-studded board, reported Wednesday's Fox News.
The 50-year-old Boulder man, Richard Moller, allegedly went after the animals because his own cat had been killed by a raccoon years ago; one raccoon died after the attack.
A witness claims to have watched Moller climb into a dumpster on Monday evening and beat the two raccoons. The witness stated that the raccoons could be heard:
"screaming and moaning"
When Moller was confronted by the witness, he allegedly screamed, "all raccoons must die," before exiting the dumpster and running away.
Boulder police caught up to Moller and he explained to them that he went after the raccoons because he had seen his cat killed by raccoons years earlier, and this was his opportunity to "kill the raccoons."
Moller was taken to the Boulder County Jail and he is facing two felony counts of animal cruelty for Monday night's attack.
