Thursday, September 12, 2013: Littleton: Epic "tropical" rain in Colorado brings major and deadly flooding to several foothill towns and spreading across to the front range. Denver Metro is bracing for the arrival of major waters, as some suburban areas are already under water.
Roads and bridges are out in the foothill areas, making evacuations difficult. Thousands of people have been forced to leave their homes, businesses and schools, for higher ground.
North West of Denver, Boulder, Estes Part, Lyons, Longmont and nearby areas, were the first to flood under record amounts of rain. Creeks, streams, rivers are all at or over their flood stage and are continuing to rise.
BREAKING: Rocky Flats Lake Dam has broken and this adds to yet two other dams blown out in Larimer and Boulder Counties. Evacuations below the lake are being conducted now. Location is South of Boulder Turnpike.
