Denver is currently a diamond in the rough in terms of fashion. While the City houses a multitude of talented designers of all types, they are pretty much well kept secrets across the country. Justice Kwarteng, Founder of Colorado Fashion Week aims to change that with this year’s third annual event which will be held at the Oxford Hotel on October 5th.
Held over three days, the event will feature The Business of Fashion Industry Panels, along with The 3rd Annual “CFW Masters of Hair + Make-Up Artistry Fashion Runway Show.” This must-see event will be held at the Walker Fine Art Gallery from 8 to 9 p.m. on Friday the 4th. This year's theme is Fashion Is Art/Life Is Art: Lady Gaga Meets Grace Jones. The finale event will be held on Saturday the 5th and will feature multiple fashion shows from designers all over the Southwest. Runway presentations from and Rocky Mountain area designers Nicholas Anthony Clothing and INDI Apparel, as well as the debut of a collection from Art Institute alum Robbi Sayuri will be featured on Saturday.
Sponsors of the show include The Oxford Hotel, MAI Couture, Mile High Spirits LLC, McCormick’s at The Oxford, Healing Intuition Massage Clinic, Apricot Lane Boutique Denver, JTA Fashion Image + Style, RoofStar Colorado, COLLAGE Digital Magazine, UNITE Professional Salon System, and Walker Fine Art Gallery. VIP Guests will receive schwag bags, which may include samples from some of the sponsors. Colorado Fashion Week not only presents an avenue for local designers, but also for local boutiques. Several Denver area boutiques will showcase their lines at the show.
Kwarteng created this event in 2011, and was inspired by Fern Mallis, Former Executive Director of the CFDA, who founded New York Fashion Week in 1993. He launched the brand with the idea of promoting Denver as a legitimate fashion destination and economic opportunity for industry professionals. “Denver is a leading economic and cultural arts entertainment capital of the Rocky Mountain West region but, as a city, it has no significant position within the highly lucrative $250 billion global fashion business. CFW exists to strategically change, and reposition, the state of Colorado and the beautiful city of Denver as the emerging fashion business capital of the west.”
The event continues to grow, and this year’s show promises to be its biggest yet. Don’t miss all of the fashion at Day 3 of Colorado Fashion Week. Tickets are limited, and are available for purchase by clicking herehttps://coloradofashionweek.eventbrite.com/.
