Colorado Eagles met the Dayton Gems for the second of two games in Ohio. Andrew Penner started in net. Tonight’s game was a little more action packed than last night. The night ended with a shootout, the first for both teams this season. Colorado Eagles win with a 5-4 final score. This makes a seven game winning streak for the team.

Last night was a show of goaltending, but tonight was a different story. The offense was hot for both teams. Eagles ended with 43 shots on goal and the Gems ended with 36 sog.

Adam Hogg tied the game with just 56 seconds remaining in regulation. Hogg sends the game into the Colorado Eagles first overtime. Five minutes of overtime with no scores from the teams sent them into their first shootout for both teams this season. Scott May received the winning point in the shootout.

Both teams had 22 minutes in eight infractions for the night. Chris Hau was flexing his muscles several times throughout the 60 minutes fighting both McCue and Dowzak. Do we have a new enforcer?

The Colorado Eagles return to the Budweiser Event Center on Wednesday night, November 10th for the Military Appreciation night. Season ticket holders have donated their seats to military members and their families. Special edition military-themed jerseys will be worn and later auctioned off with proceeds being donated to benefit military veterans in Northern Colorado. The team sends a special thank you to the season ticket holders that have graciously offered their tickets for the night.
