Dershon Brown's two goal performance led the Colorado Rapids to a 3-0 win over the visiting Houston Dynamo (5-8-2 17 points) on Sunday night. The loss left Houston winless on their three game road trip and scoreless since a 61st minute goal by Giles Barnes in a 1-0 win over the L.A. Galaxy.
Colorado (6-4-3 21 points) opened the scoring in the fifth minute as a Marvel Wynne cross found the head of an onrushing Dershon Brown and a 1-0 lead.
Thirteen minutes later, Dynamo defender Corey Ashe streaked across the goal line clearing a low line shot by Kamani Hill keeping the deficit at one. In the 35th minute, Brown, the Jamaican international doubled the score netting his second goal of the match.
Kamani Hill, who nearly scored in the 18th minute of the first half were it not for the heroics of Dynamo defender Corey Ashe clearing the ball off the line at the last second, didn't miss in the 51st minute deftly flicking home a corner kick with the outside of his right past Dynamo keeper Tally Hall.
The goal marked the second straight game Houston surrendered three goals and the fourth time this season.
The Dynamo have scored once on their last four games since losing rookie forward Mark Sheerrod to a torn ACL.
Houston hosts Sporting KC in a 7:30pm CDT match at BBVA Compass Stadium on Friday, June 1st.
