The Eagle County Sheriff's Office and the Bureau of Animal Protection Agents from the Eagle Valley Humane Society are asking for the public's help in solving an egregious animal cruelty crime. A small dog's head and leg were recovered at the Crown Mountain Park in El Jebel ; authorities want to know who could be so cruel to commit such a heinous crime against an animal?
According to the Eagle Valley Humane Society's Facebook posting, the August 4 discovery was determined to have been done by a human and not by another animal. The breed of the dog is one of a miniature pinscher or pinscher mix. The dog was estimated to be approximately two to three years of age.
The reward of $5,000 is being offered by the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, the Eagle Valley Humane Society, and Crime Stoppers for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the responsible person.
