Sunday February 7th marked the beginning of the 2010 Colorado All State Choir Festival. The festival, which has been around for the past fifty years, is the celebration of the best and brightest choir kids that Colorado high schools have to offer.
This year the festival is being held at the Denver Convention Center. This is a change from years past when the festival was held on the CSU campus in Fort Collins.
The festival is made up of three choirs, a men’s choir, a women’s choir and a mixed choir. Students from all over the state auditioned in late 2009 for one of the coveted spots in one of these superb choirs.
The students arrived at the Convention Center on Sunday where they had to re-audition, proving they learned their music.
Today and tomorrow, the students will spend all of their time in rehearsal, getting ready for the performance which will take place on February 9th, at 7pm in the Wells Fargo Theatre at the Colorado Convention Center.
