Color Junkie Joyce Shelton

Joyce Shelton - Patio Posies

"I am a color junkie. My love of color and design is important to me no matter the media in which I am working." - Joyce Shelton

Comparable to Monet and Chagall, Joyce Shelton’s artwork never ceases to bring a smile to the faces of her audience. A self-proclaimed “color junkie” and multi-media artist, Shelton’s compositions combined with her sense of color and light make her a unique member of Denver’s fine arts community.

Shelton was influenced by her work with screen-printing where she focused on placing simple shapes into organized compositions. Her current work carries those same principles into other media including pastel and paint on both paper and canvas. Her simplified contemporary subject matter is charged with energy.
