Colonie's Hibachi X abruptly closes the business

That "x" in the Hibachi X name has, at least figuratively, been stretched to cover the sign at its location in suburban Colonie, Albany County.

Hibachi X has abruptly closed after barely two years in business. The phone goes unanswered, and a sign has been posted on the 1893 Central Avenue, building announcing an auction of its contents.

The restaurant had been known for its glitzy atmosphere and all-you-can-eat policy, as well as some of its curious menu entries such as "pork's blood," "raddish" and "fat sliced beef."

In that vein, an unintentionally humorous note on its Facebook page directs potential customers to its sister operation, Sushi X. It reads: "Due to unforesoon circumstances, please visit our Latham location for "all u can eat sushi", 710 New Loudon Rd Latham NY 12110. (518) 713 4102."
