Colonie's Appletini becoming Tex-Mex/BBQ spot

You wouldnt know it by its website -- which advertises business as usual -- or its Facebook page -- which features cleavage shots and not much else -- but Appletini's in the Albany suburb of Colonie is closed.

The 1118 Central Avenue restaurant and nightspot is being reworked by Andy Kung, who purchased it last June, to be re-opened as a Tex-Mex/BBQ spot called the Albany Rail Yard.

Kung says a new 35-foot bar and a stage for live music are being installed.

Kung is a partner with Mike Ryan in Center Square Pub in Albany but has run Appletini’s since August.

A mid-February opening is projected.
