On Tuesday, about a dozen residents at the Colonial Apartment Complex in S. Ann contacted KMOV-News after receiving notifications on their doors regarding late payments in which they had paid on time. They reportedly came home to find late rent notices tacked on about 20 doors of the complex after already having paid rent to management of the Colonial Apartments. They were each given 3 days to make good on the pay or else they were threatened with immediate evictions. Gundaker Commercial Group said their account is delinquent and a money order is due immediately.
On resident, Kassandra Kniff stated that she pays $535 month for rent and she was advised that she was late by $655 and that it did not sound Kosher because a late fee for one month would be $50 not $130. Another resident, Brandon Fulks said he thought something was odd when they asked for additional money due to an alleged rent raise for his September rent.
News 4’s Brittany Noble got in touch with the former apartment manager Kelly who said she had recently been fired from Gundaker but would not say why. News 4 was not able to speak with a representative with Gundaker.
