Myers Park and Event Center in McKinney will be a gardener's Mecca this weekend with shopping opportunities and educational events at The Garden Show from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 24 and from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 25.
Presented by the Collin County Master Gardeners, The Garden Show is an indoor event featuring activities for all ages, including hands-on seminars and demos from respected experts.
The event focuses on sustainability and Earth-King living in North Texas. Among the speakers are Dr. Greg Church,Texas AgriLife Extension agent for horticulture in Collin County; Steve Huddleston, senior horticulturist for the Fort Worth Botanic Garden; Dr. Kevin Ong, plant pathologist at Texas A&M University, and Dr. Dotty Woodson, rainwater harvesting guru at the Texas AgriLife Research and Extension Urban Solutions Center in Dallas.
More than 50 vendors will offer everything from interior and exterior plants, natural products for the home, foods and wines, and outdoor living merchandise. Admission is $2 per auto or two cans of food to support the Allen Food Bank. (See the daily presentation schedule below.)
