The 2014 College World Series live stream and TV coverage gets underway today with two games on the schedule including UC-Irvine taking on Texas. UCI and Texas will get the 2014 CWS rolling as the first pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m. ET. The second game of the day will feature the NCAA live streaming action between the 50 win Louisville Cardinals taking on Vanderbilt at 8 p.m. ET
According to a BCSN report on June 13 the Longhorns are no strangers to the CWS. Texas will be making its 35th appearance in the classic, which is the most of any team in NCAA history. The Longhorns also have the most wins in CWS play with 82. Nevertheless, all that means nothing to the 2014 squad as they aren't focused or satisfied by just making it to Omaha - they want to but take home a national championship title!
Texas definitely has the arms to bring home a NCAA Championship. The Longhorns pitching staff has a team ERA of 2.32 which puts them sixth overall in the nation. Add that to hot hitting led by Madison Carter, Mark Payton and C.J Hinojosa and Texas will be a tough team to defeat in the tournament.
All that being said, let’s not count out UC Irvine. The Anteaters earned their way to Omaha by beating some great teams. First UCI defeated No. 1 national seed Oregon State in the regionals, and then they took out the Big 12 champion Oklahoma State in the Stillwater Super Regional.
Las Vegas odds makers have Texas as the favorite to win today’s game at -145. Texas is also the favorite to win the best two-out-of-three series at -170. Fans can catch every pitch of the action on ESPN2 nationally and streaming live online through your PC, tablets or smart phones via Watch ESPN.
